A major innovation was represented by the introduction of innovative Vi.P (Virtual Patient) ECHO Sessions, during which will be used a latest generation echographic simulator. The echographic simulator, both for TTE (trans-thoracic) and TEE (trans-esophageal), allows to simulate Echo-oriented operations procedure.

In 2015 the Mediterranean Cardiology Meeting was already recognized as an important biannual appointment for european countries. During this edition a very thought-provoking joint symposium was organized by the important scientific societies: ESC and EHRA.

For the first time in 2011, MCM took place in Catania, with the aim to give to participants the latest update on Clinical & Interventional Cardiology. MCM was addressed to cardiologists, internists, first aid clinicians, physicians of general medicine, fellows, nurses and technicians with high interest in the whole management of cardiac pathologies.

It was intended not only for cardiologists, but also for those who are actively interested in the evidence-based approach to clinical care, such as internists, emergency and critical care clinicians, physicians of general medicine, fellows, students, nurses, and technicians.

The first International Meeting, held in Taormina, was inspired by the need to have a state of the art about the epidemiology, physiopathological and electrogenetic mechanisms, diagnosis, pharmacological or electrical treatment, prognosis, in- and outhospital management, organizational and economical implications of Heart Failure and Atrial Fibrillation, as one of the major public health problems at the beginning of the third millennium.
